For anyone who has a liking for yachts, the Monaco Yacht Show is the epitome of yachting events. It brings together an amalgamation of brand new yachts, industry leaders and design innovations, for all to see.
The show is highly anticipated with around 30,000 guests coming from all over the globe to feast their eyes on the latest trends. The four day rendezvous takes guests on a grand tour of luxury yachts, quite literally; bus and boat shuttle services will make getting from place to place a breeze.
This year is set to attract an even greater collection of luxury yachts than ever before, having added extra berths for the 25th edition. More luxury yachts equals more luxury events. Expect to see an abundance of on-deck DJ’s and extravagant cocktail evenings.
The Monaco Yacht Show has always been one of the only places to catch a glimpse of the world's Megayachts (without actually owning one), and this year it will also become a harbour for vehicles of the four-wheeled variety.
Monaco Yacht Show are now sporting the Car Deck. Supercars have always played a part in the exhibition. With such a concentration of luxury (Monaco being the most dense area of millionaires and billionaires per capita), it’s bound to attract all things opulent in nature.
During the show, supercars line the streets of Monaco, complemented by the scenic backdrop of Monte Carlo.
The dedicated deck will display an array of prestigious cars which will be available for test drives, as well as purchasing.
Speaking of what's new, each Monaco Yacht Show launches 40 exclusive luxury yachts.
Included in the 40 exclusive launches set to debut this year is Heesen’s largest yacht to date. Amore Mio will be in the limelight with her cutting edge technologies. On top of the not-so-standard amenities, she’s equipped with self-deploying man over-board devices. The brief for this beauty was a beach house on the sea.
Also a must-see this year is Amels 180; Elixir. With smooth sleek lines designed by Tim Heywood, and interiors from Luara Sessa Design, the boat has a flavour of luxury. The semi-custom construction process allowed for a swift delivery, according to Captain Simon Ladbrooke.
Damen, sister yard to Amels, will be presenting their new Yacht Support Vessel, the YS 5009. To fully display the capacities of such a vessel, Damen will have a purpose-built showcase vessel at the Monaco Yacht Show this month.
The Ipanema will also be making an appearance, one that will be hard to miss. With its cherry-red exterior and its supercar-like design, heads are sure to turn in its direction. Designed by Hot Lab Yacht & Design, the swift and sporty façade Mondomarine’s 49.2 meter yacht are contrasted with a classically inspired interior.
